Excelana£4.99 per 50 gram ball

Our Exelana is a high quality 100% British yarn spun from out local North Devon sheep, the Exmoor Blueface (a cross of the Exmoor Horn and Bluefaced Leicester).

It has been developed by John Arbon and spun into a fine hand knit yarn in 4 ply and double knit. Excelana was designed to compliment knitwear designer Susan Crawford's vintage knitting patterns. Her latest book, A Stitch in Time Vol 2, features Excelana in many of it's patterns. It is dyed in a range of 8 shades creating a palette that perfectly suits Susan's stunning knitting patterns.

John Arbon Textiles & Fibre Harvest - British makers of unisex socks, yarns and fibres

As John Arbon Textiles we are a small family-run business, nestled in North Devon producing a wide range of luxury socks in the UK. Sister company, Fibre Harvest, uses traditional worsted machinery to process & spin fine quality British yarns ... one of only a handful of small scale Worsted Mills still operating in the UK.

Our production concept is simple – a return to the old style of textile manufacture ... sourcing raw fibre (locally wherever possible) & converting it in Britain into high quality hand knit yarns & the very sock yarn used to knit our luxury British made unisex socks.
