Head honcho, John Arbon, has spent the last 12 years developing a range of functionally versatile & sumptuously comfortable British-made Alpaca Socks, Merino Socks and British Wool Socks - a style to suit every lady & gentleman on any occasion. From hard-wearing Walking Socks to everyday Dress Socks, thermal Terry Loop Socks to cosy Bed Socks, knee-length Country Hose to colourful Stripy Socks - a real treat for your feet!

The yarn for our very socks is made at our worsted spinning mill by John & his spinners, Sara and Emily. They operate our vintage textile machinery to produce not only luxury sock yarns, but hand knitting yarns of exceptional quality & design.

Alongside our regular ranges, we produce custom yarns for other like-minded yarn & textile enthusiasts... our latest collaboration is ‘TWOOL’. A unique garden twine made from the wool of the White Face Dartmoor sheep, which has won a host of environmental awards & many fans within the horticultural market. (www.twool.co.uk)

After the unveiling of our new Sock range, the Exmoor Stroller made from our local Exmoor Blueface sheep, we are busy with new yarns for 2013.

Sara is developing our FIBRE FETISH yarn - using our Knit By Numbers range & folding some saucy marls into teasing colours. 100% d/k merino, available in limited edition runs only, each with ‘Carry On Up The Mill’ names...

Emily is using her colour & hand dyeing expertise to make a range of blended dyed merino yarns in a special process we call ‘dry dyeing’. The result is wonderful worsted spun yarns with the look of hand dyeing, but without dirty fingers!
