Beth tells a Yarn – We Talk Yarn Dyeing with Beth Sparks
We are completely smitten with Beth’s subtle variegated shades here at JAT. When planning new projects we often find ourselves pouring over her skeins deciding which shade to choose. So it is a real treat to have Beth chat with us about her hand dye journey and give us a glimpse of what it is like to be a hand dyer. She lets us in on where she gets her colour inspiration from, her current favourite books, what it is that gets her creative juices flowing.
Beth has recently moved her yarn brand, Telling Yarns, to 100% British non-superwash yarn. She’ll let us know why she made that decision and where her passion for crafting with proper yarn came from. Beth has worked with the team at John Arbon to create a custom spun yarn base in 2 different weights, which comprises 100% British wool produced entirely in Britain. She now exclusively dyes this base from her family farm in Bedfordshire.
