Box of Broken Tops (4.8kgs)
If you’re a spinner or felter and you’ve ever visited us at a show or at our Mill, then you’ll be familiar with these bags of Broken Tops – folk love getting in the trug and having a good old rummage about for their favourite blends and shades. So we thought we’d get these beauties on the website. You won’t be able to pick the exact blends and shades but with 24 Broken Tops bags per box, there will be a wealth of varieties… why not split a box with a few of your woolly friends?
The shipping price is already factored into this item, and there is a little extra space in the box – so if you fancy ordering a few other goodies at the same time we’ll be able to add them to your box for no additional shipping cost (max 1.5kgs extra please!). Unfortunately, box rate shipping (we have to send them via courier as they are too bulky for the postal service) can be rather costly and is different for every country!
We want to stress to those unfamiliar with our Broken Tops that they are not the luscious worsted prepared tops which are our usual offering. Please be aware that these Broken Tops are a wonderful by-product of our spinning processes in the Mill – they are the end of a run of tops or leftover fibre from a specific yarn blend. We try our best to have as little waste as possible, so these Broken Tops are made up from all of the bits left over from our Mill machine processing. You may find you need to re-card the fibre from these before spinning / felting…

With regards to the box contents you can expect to find a bags of all our usual blends: 100% Merino in various colours, the odd bag of blended dyed Merino & natural browny black Zwartbles, a few bags of natural fibre shade blends (maybe some with nylon), the odd bag of 100% dyed Corriedale, plus some Exmoor Blueface / Blueface Leicester / Wensleydale mixed coloured fibre bags too.
