Hand Dyed Yarn – Felt Fusion on Exmoor Sock

£21.00 per 100g skein

As part of our Mill Open Weekend celebrations, we have curated a glorious selection of hand dyed yarns, showcasing the dyers who use our bases to create their beautiful wares.

Shadow, of Felt Fusion uses our Exmoor Sock base to create her totally unique and often self-striping yarns. Shadow has been dyeing for a number of years and is established as a dyer of highly variegated colourways on ethically sourced wool blend yarns. Based in Northamptonshire, she uses our Exmoor Sock base as her British Wool Sock which is regularly available from her website as well as clubs and specials.

Visit Shadow’s website to see more of her yummy yarns.

Beautiful skeins from Shadow of Felt Fusion, on our Exmoor Sock base…

Our Exmoor Sock yarn enhances the durable character and bounce of the fibre from our local Exmoor Blueface sheep – a cross breed of the Exmoor Horn (full bodied and hard-wearing) and the Bluefaced Leicester (renowned for its softness and lustre). We’ve added naturally dark browny-black Devon Zwartbles giving extra bounce and a subtle fleck of colour, plus Falklands Corriedale to enhance softness and stitch definition and a hint of Nylon for durability.

60% Exmoor Blueface / 20% Corriedale / 10% Zwartbles / 10% Nylon

400m / 100g

Personally we love the way these hand dyed skeins work up with our mill dyed heathers. Please be aware that these are hand dyed skeins, so each skein is slightly different. If making a larger project then you may wish to stripe skeins to ensure an even colour throughout.
