ON SALE – Harvest Hues Worsted / Light Aran

20% OFF - £15.00 per 100g skein

We have reformulated our Harvest Hues to be 33% Bluefaced Leicester, 33% Merino and 33% Zwartbles. The new reformulated version has launched with a fab new palette of 22 shades available hereFor this reason, we have now reduced the remaining stock of the original 65% Merino / 35% Zwartbles blend whilst supplies last.

Harvest Hues 4ply  is one of our most favourite yarns. We love its dramatic colour palette and wonderful heirloom feel and the springy texture suits a thicker yarn just perfectly! The Worsted Weight (or Light Aran) yarn compliments our existing yarn ranges perfectly and gives those crafters who prefer a chunkier yarn and bigger needles or hooks an exciting option.

Our Harvest Hues yarn is a blend of local Devon farmed Zwartbles with Falklands Merino. The Zwartbles sheep is naturally dark brown and when blended with our pre-dyed Merino colours transforms into deep, mottled shades reminiscent of Exmoor where we live.

Our Mill is situated just outside Exmoor, in the heart of Devon. Autumn here is awash with gently fading splendour: all the punchy, bright shades of summer soften and become more muted. This changing of the seasons is the inspiration for our Harvest Hues yarn range. Inspired by these subtle tones in our surrounding landscape, we set out to achieve a similar effect by blending the super saturated tones of our dyed Falklands Merino with the naturally dark fibre of the Devon Zwartbles. When blended together, the two breeds create a sublime depth of colour; transforming the resulting yarn and tops into complex, mottled shades reminiscent of our local autumnal landscape.

Harvest Hues halo and three ply nature means it can be worked at both a tight and looser gauge, as the halo of fibres will simply expand to fill in any gaps around the stitches. Whether you’re after the yarn or tops, our Harvest Hues is a delightful blend with an unpretentious air. It’s the ideal blend to wear when rambling about the countryside on a crisp autumnal day. With thirteen sumptuous shades inspired by autumn’s striking palette, you’re sure to find a combination which makes your heart glad.
