Lost in Sherwood – by Nataliya Sinelshchikova

£5.25

Imagine as you walk through the woods, the mesmerising picture of the sunlight coming through the trees. Nature always was an inspiration for me, especially when it meets geometry, and Lost in Sherwood socks is no exception.

The design features a simple stranded colourwork pattern that creates a particularly warm fabric, perfect for long walks and chilly weather. The socks are knit toe-up, using a hybrid of the German short row heel and Heel Flap and Gusset techniques for an improved fit.

Yarn

John Arbon Textiles Exmoor Sock (4ply weight; 60% Exmoor Blueface, 20% Corriedale, 10% Zwartbles, 10% Nylon; 200m / 219yds per 50g skein)

Depending on desired foot and leg lengths you will need 1 skein of each colour for sizes 1 – 3; 1 or 2 skeins of each colour for sizes 4 – 5; 2 skeins of each colour for size 6.

Sample shown is knit in colourways Oddmedod (MC) and Mizzle (CC). 1 skein of each colour is used to knit sample in size 3 with 25 cm foot length and 15 cm leg length.

Finished Measurements

1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) [Finished sock foot circumference 17.5 (18.75, 20, 21.25, 22.5, 23.75) cm / 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5)”] Recommended to be worn with a negative ease up to 2 cm / 0.75”. The stranded colourwork patterns create a less elastic fabric, if you are between sizes or prefer a looser fit I recommend going up a size.
