As part of our annual Mill Open Weekend shenanigans, we always create a limited-edition mini collection of yarn and tops to help celebrate in style. This year we’ve been even more excited than usual, as we’ve been collaborating with some rather fabulous designers! Emily Wessel (Tin Can Knits), Aleks Byrd, and Ysolda Teague-Long have each created custom shades of our beloved Yarnadelic.

We have knitted up some samples using these special shades of Yarnadelic and a few of our favourite designs by Emily, Aleks and Ysolda. The Musselburgh Hat by Ysolda is one of the most versatile hat patterns we’ve seen, and never fails to turn our a truly gorgeous woolly warmer. This hat is effectively swatchless, allowing you to choose the size and needles that work for you.

Our sample was made up in splendid ‘Space Talk’ sport weight, on 3.5mm needles, and in our kits we’ve included yarn to replicate it, as well as a few other shades we think will work wonderfully. This easy to knit double layered beanie is beginner friendly and one of our fail-safe go to patterns for a simple, unisex hat.
