Snakes & Ladders Hat and Mitten Set – by Helena Timms
An easy, beginners knit comprising a pair of simple mittens and matching hat with a cable and garter stitch repeat representing snakes (cables) and ladders (garter). Worked in Harvest Hues Worsted weight yarn for a quick but warm project. The hat has an optional pompom and the mittens have a fingerless option as well.

Palm circumference: 19 [21.5, 24] cm or 7.5 [8.5, 9.5]”

Note: If you want to add length, it is easiest to add extra rib rows, or a pattern repeat. One full pattern repeat will add approx. 2.5 cm / 1 “
3.5 mm and 4.5 mm circular needles – adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge
Stitch holder, Cable Needle, Stitch markers, Tapestry needle and Mitten blocker (optional)
20 sts x 28 rows to 10 cm / 4″ in stockinette stitch on larger needles after blocking.
