Tackling Intarsia in the Round with Sylvia Watts-Cherry

In this class, we will go beyond basic intarsia to explore knitting motifs and intarsia patterns in the round using two different techniques. Plus, pick up tips for keeping your yarns organised, maintaining your tension, calculating yarn needs and more.

This class will be centred around knitting a colourful, graphic, intarsia cowl using 6 x 25g Devonia DK mini skeins. But you won’t just be learning to knit this project, you’ll leave this class able to knit intarsia motifs into mittens, cowls, hats and any other knit in the round projects – plus with a general confidence boost about working with colour!

Skill Level Information (what will be covered): Advanced beginner and up. Must be able to cast on and off, knit, purl, and knit in the round. Some experience with basic intarsia and working from charts would be helpful, but is not required.
What is included? A full set of 6 x 25g minis in Devonia DK, in any shades you like. You will also receive a voucher for a beverage of your choosing from the pop-up MOW café.
Once you have booked your course, we will email you to ask you which shades of Devonia DK take your fancy and have them balled and ready for you at the start of the workshop.
What do students need to bring? A pencil and paper, two pairs of 3.5 or 4mm circular needles 24-26 inches long, pair of scissors, darning needle and a tape measure – if you have them.
