Toast and Jam gloves are just the thing to keep your hands warm and toasty (pun intended!) through the winter months. Knit in twisted rib from the bottom up, they feature a symmetrical section of garter stitch on the palms. A simple gusseted thumb in twisted rib and nice snug fit make these gloves a quick and interesting knit. They could easily be worn on the opposite hands so that the garter stitch is more visible, it’s like 2 pairs in one!
Yarn
Photographed here in John Arbon Textiles, Down the Allotment Special DK
Originally knit up in Viola, we have re-knit this beauty of a pattern in our 2023 Mill Open Weekend, ‘Down the Allotment’ special, as we thought this pattern and yarn was just a perfect pairing.
We’ve worked up two different shades, Herb Garden and Purple Sprouting. 1 pair of mitts takes approximately 65 grams (163 meters).
