It is with a heavy heart that we’ve decided to bid farewell to one of our oldest yarns, Viola DK. We adore this base and the divine shades that Emily created, so this was not an easy decision, but sometimes one has to let go of ones old loves in order to make space for new ones! Viola is made using 100% Merino and we have decided not to update this base as we transition the KBN to our new 50/50 blend. We still have oodles of stock of quite a few of the shades, but once its gone its gone. We won’t be spinning up any more…
The tops fans amongst you, will be pleased to know that we are going to keep making these whilst we still have the correct shades of our 100% Merino to do so. We know it’s a giant favourite of yours, so wanted to make sure we can keep making those bouncy tops for as long as possible.
Viola yarn is a collaboration between inspirational Canadian hand-dyer, Emily Foden (Viola) and John Arbon which began when she was working at our Mill many moons ago. Emily uses her colour and hand dyeing expertise in a special process we call ‘dry dyeing’, creating a range of colours in 100% organically farmed Falklands Merino through blending dyed tops. The result is a wonderful double knit yarn with the look of hand dyeing, but without the dirty fingers.
