It is with a heavy heart that we’ve decided to bid farewell to one of our oldest yarns, Viola DK. We adore this base and the divine shades that Emily created, so this was not an easy decision, but sometimes one has to let go of ones old loves in order to make space for new ones! Viola is made using 100% Merino and we have decided not to update this base as we transition the KBN to our new 50/50 blend. We still have oodles of stock of quite a few of the shades, but once its gone its gone. We won’t be spinning up any more…
The tops fans amongst you, will be pleased to know that we are going to keep making these whilst we still have the correct shades of our 100% Merino to do so. We know it’s a giant favourite of yours, so wanted to make sure we can keep making those bouncy tops for as long as possible.

Viola tops combine a multitude of pre-dyed shades of organically farmed Falklands Merino within each colour – producing complex and oh-so-subtle colours in the pallette. We love the complex and gentle shades Canadian hand-dyer (and very good friend) Emily Foden of Viola, developed for us a few years ago when she was working at our Mill.
The range she helped to develop with John, Viola DK, has long been available as Yarn, but now it is a tops range too, so this is a bit of a treat… Our organically farmed Falklands Merino is soft and buttery, it’s simply a delight to both spin and knit.
