The Zwartbles sheep originates from Holland but is now widely farmed across Exmoor and the fibre, once shorn, is graded at our local British Wool grading station. It is naturally dark brown and John has created a tonal range by adding another local white sheep breed, the Exmoor Blueface, as a blend. Once spun the Zwartbles produces a beautiful, voluminous, bouncy yarn.

Composition:
100% Zwartbles (dark)
60% Zwartbles / 40% Exmoor Blueface (Mid)
30% Zwartbles / 70% Exmoor Blueface (Light)

double knit (100g skein)
250 meters per 100 grams

John Arbon Textiles & Fibre Harvest - British makers of unisex socks, yarns and fibres

As John Arbon Textiles we are a small family-run business, nestled in North Devon producing a wide range of luxury socks in the UK. Sister company, Fibre Harvest, uses traditional worsted machinery to process & spin fine quality British yarns ... one of only a handful of small scale Worsted Mills still operating in the UK.

Our production concept is simple – a return to the old style of textile manufacture ... sourcing raw fibre (locally wherever possible) & converting it in Britain into high quality hand knit yarns & the very sock yarn used to knit our luxury British made unisex socks.
