Mill Open Weekend Season Is Upon Us!

Here at the Mill, the arrival of summer is a sure indicator that Mill Open Weekend season is fast approaching – yippee! We’ve been concocting oodles of delightful specials (more on these below), checking in with all our teachers and vendors and generally dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s for the last few weeks now and our beloved machines have been polished, all ready for their close-ups. Cor blimey are we looking forward to hosting you all again, whether in person in North Devon or online! We don’t want to toot our own horns too loudly *cough, cough* but we reckon we’ve put together something really special this year.

We’ve always loved welcoming our lovely customers to our Mill to meet the machines, squish our yarn in person, get inspired with classes by fabulous makers and shop with our Guest Vendors. Back in the day we would put up a marquee in the car park at the Mill, but we were fast outgrowing the space and after experiencing torrential downpours one year, we decided that a change to a more water-tight venue might be desirable!  Luckily, South Molton has the most fabulous venue, the 18th century Town Hall, perfect for a woolly weekend with fibre chums!

Our in-person Mill Open Weekend takes place on 7th & 8th June 2025 with our pop-up shop in the Town Hall, Mill Tours, Talks, Workshops and Guest Vendors.  Plus, of course, this year’s special edition yarn and fibre. You can find all the info here—we can’t wait to see you!

As much as we’d love to see all our customers here in person, we know that a trip to Devon isn’t possible for everyone. Residing in this part of the world has many benefits but easy access for visitors isn’t on that list! That’s why we host our Virtual Mill Open Weekend over on Zoom each year, jam packed full of free talks, workshops and delicious yarn and tops of course!

This year’s Virtual Mill Open Weekend takes place on 5th & 6th July 2025. There will be all the usual goodness — show-and-tell, workshops with talented tutors, oodles of limited editions and specials – but you’ll be free to enjoy it all from the comfort of your own home, nestled up on the sofa, with a cuppa and an ice-cream. What could be better than that? Find out more.
