Meet the Mill Folk — Daisy
Daisy works in our Production Finishing Team on the Mill Mezzanine (‘mezz team’ for short!) where all the yarn gets plied, skeined, coned and stored. She’s a whizz on the skeinwinder and has a fabulous skeintwisting technique that boggles the mind! She’s also responsible for all the marled yarn specials made from all the bits and pieces she saves up throughout the year.
How long have you been working at John Arbon Textiles?
On and off since 2015!
Why did you decide to work at the Mill?
Because I love the ethics, the staff and the woolly and creative nature of the work.
What is your favourite yarn or tops that’s made at the Mill? And why?
I love Knit By Numbers because it’s a giant glorious rainbow. Also I absolutely loved the Dark Matter specials and our other silk blends!

What do you get up to when you’re not at work?
Writing, painting, reading, walking, socialising and adventuring and Minecraft.
What music/audiobooks/podcasts do you like to listen to while you work?
Every genre of music at random! I’m really enjoying the podcast ‘Ologies’ by Alie Ward.
