Yarn Support

We love working with designers – knitting, crochet, weaving, you name it! – and are thrilled to bits to offer yarn support if you have a great idea that would work well with our yarns or fibre.

Here's what our Yarn Support Programme includes:

  • Yarn

    We provide yarn for you to swatch and knit your design sample – your choice from our extensive range of different yarns!

  • Shade Cards

    Shade Cards can be super helpful when deciding which colour(s) and yarn to work with. You can request shade cards for any of our ranges.

  • Test Knitter Discount

    When your design has progressed to test knitting, we're more than happy to provide a discount on our yarns for your test knitters.

  • Launch Discount

    When you're ready to launch your pattern, we're happy to provide an exclusive discount on the yarn you used that you can share with your audience.

  • Kits

    For selected designs, we're also happy to put together kits in our yarns for our webshop! We don't sell patterns on our website so will lead people to your Ravelry store or website.

  • Marketing

    We mention your design in our newsletter, on our Social Media channels, and for select designs also on our Youtube channel.

How to Apply for Yarn Support

Applying for our Yarn Support Programme is pretty straightforward (we hope!) Send us an email to marketing@jarbon.com with a design proposal. Ideally, your proposal includes:

  • A short description of the design
  • A sketch and / or swatch of your design idea
  • A preliminary timeline for test knitting and release
  • Which yarns, colours, quantities and shade cards you'd like

We will review your design proposal and get back to you within a week (bear with us if it takes a little longer during busy times!)

The Annual – our In-House Magazine

Once a year (usually in the late Spring) we open submissions for our in-house magazine, the Annual! Keep an eye on our website, newsletter and Instagram as that's where we announce when submissions are open.
