Folks We Spin For

Not only do we create and produce all our own yarns and tops, but we also commission spin for other woolly folk, as well as sell our undyed yarn bases to independent dyers. We are very proud of the yarn we spin for them and are constantly amazed by the colourways they produce!

If you'd like to chat with us about developing a custom yarn with you, send us an email to wholesale@jarbon.com!

  • Fruity Knitting (Germany)

We're working with Andrea and Madeleine on developing their first-ever own yarn line, scheduled to be launched in 2026.

  • Marie Wallin (England)

Marie’s ‘British Breeds’ and 'British Breeds ARAN' yarns are blended and spun at our mill. The yarn is made from four different British sheep breeds: Bluefaced Leicester, Exmoor Blueface, Romney and Zwartbles.

  • Daughter of a Shepherd (England)

Rachel’s ‘Heritage’ and ‘Brume’ yarns as well as her 'Drover Sock' yarn are blended and spun by us. They all feature the wonderful Hebridean fibre that Daughter of a Shepherd is famous for.

  • woollentwine (Germany)

We custom-spin Jule's 'Heirloom' base in both 4ply and DK here at the mill. Jule then adds her signature warm, earthy colours through natural dyeing on those 100% Exmoor Blueface yarns.

  • Telling Yarns (England)

The six British wool bases we custom spin for Telling Yarns were created to provide the perfect canvas for Beth’s literary-inspired colourways. They range from light grey-brown to dark.

  • Cat and Sparrow UK (England)

We blend and spin several of Rachel’s bases including ‘Superhero DK’, ‘Rolling Stone Sock’ and ‘Toasty Aran’ which are then hand-dyed in a range of glorious colours.

  • Felt Fusion (England)

We blend and spin Shadow's custom bases 'Talamh Sock', a mix of British wools and Nylon, and 'Danu 4ply', a blend of Bluefaced Leicester, Romney, Exmoor Blueface and Silk for her here at the mill.

  • Vaire Yarns / Sidi Spinnt (Switzerland)

Vaire's signature fibre and Este yarn is blended and spun here in our mill. The combination of Polwarth, Exmoor Blueface and luscious Silk is then plant-dyed by Sidia and her partners.

  • Woll-Habitat (Austria)

Woll-Habitat's 'Habitat No. 1' started as an anniversary yarn and has become a staple in their selection. It's custom-blended and spun out of Blueface Leicester, Exmoor Blueface and Zwartbles at our mill, and then hand-dyed by them.

  • Wolverhalen (Netherlands)

'Rustic Sport', one of Wolverhalen's own and hand-dyed yarns, is custom-blended and spun here by us at the mill. It's dyed up in a glorious rainbow of colours that look wonderful on this light-grey base.

  • Ovis et cetera (Germany)

The ‘Close’ no-nylon sock yarn base is custom-spun here in our mill with a blend of Devon Closewool, Exmoor Blueface and Zwartbles and hand-dyed in Germany.

  • An Caitín Beag (England)

We worked with Marna to design a special yarn for her Catsock Adventures. The result was a no-nylon, high-twist, sturdy sock yarn to which Marna added colours designed for each sock in the pattern collection.
