The adorable Apple Blossom Shawl by Ashley Lee evokes the texture of vintage broderie anglaise and delicate clusters of apple blossom and leaves.

Worked in either Appledore Lace or Knit by Numbers 4ply, the small shawl can be worn close around the neck with a little knot, while the large shawl can be draped around your shoulders. Both are perfect for strolling around the garden and beyond.

Yarn Characteristics

Appledore Lace: Sourced from right here in the West Country, our Appledore blend encompasses our ethos of making local, uniquely heathered yarns. Packed full of woolly bounce and a smattering of lustre, it’s the perfect canvas for a range of playful shades. It’s our most durable yarn – great for hardwearing garments and accessories.

40% Devon Closewool / 40% Romney / 20% Exmoor Blueface

Knit by Numbers 4ply: Knit by Numbers is inspired by the much-loved paint-by-numbers kits of our childhoods. With a colour palette of over 100 different shades it’s created by blending pre-dyed fibre tops with specific percentages of white, resulting in six tonal gradient shades per colour. The blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Merino is next-to-the-skin soft with great stitch definition and just the right amount of shine.

Care Instructions

We recommend that our yarns are gently washed before use as we don’t do any washing or conditioning after the yarns are spun and skeined. You’ll be amazed by how much the fibre blooms after a soak and it will certainly help you get a more accurate feel for gauge and character of the yarn over time.

Once your piece is finished, we recommend another hand wash before wet blocking the piece to the given dimensions. This will set all your stitches and guarantee that your garment looks its best.
