The Hazel the Squirrel kit is designed by the very talented Cinthia Vallet of From Cinthia, a fab indie designer, who specialises in bringing these beautiful little creatures to life.

Hazel is a dancer, always and everywhere. She does not walk, she does not run, she does not climb — she dances! Her dream is to dance in a ballet company one day.

The Hazel the Quirrel pattern, as well as her other animal friends, are available in Cinthia’s book, ‘Mouche and Friends’, published by Laine Publishing, which we also stock!

Yarn Characteristics

Knit by Numbers 4ply: Knit by Numbers is inspired by the much-loved paint-by-numbers kits of our childhoods. With a colour palette of over 100 different shades it’s created by blending pre-dyed fibre tops with specific percentages of white, resulting in six tonal gradient shades per colour. The blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Merino is next-to-the-skin soft with great stitch definition and just the right amount of shine.

50% Bluefaced Leicester / 50% Falklands Merino

400m per 100g | 100m per 25g minis

Yarnadelic Sport: We love a good bop here at John Arbon Textiles, which got us thinking that it would be wonderful to create a yarn range inspired by our eclectic music tastes – from punk to funk! And so, the Yarnadelic palette was born during an evening of good vibes and chilled wine, with each shade conjuring the sentiment of a favourite song. This groovy range of heathered shades is created from 100% Falklands Corriedale fibre, which is the perfect balance of delightful softness, bounce and slight lustre.

Care Instructions

We recommend that our yarns are gently washed before use as we don’t do any washing or conditioning after the yarns are spun and skeined. You’ll be amazed by how much the fibre blooms after a soak and it will certainly help you get a more accurate feel for gauge and character of the yarn over time.

Once your piece is finished, we recommend another hand wash before wet blocking the piece to the given dimensions. This will set all your stitches and guarantee that your garment looks its best.
