Mineralogy Shade Card
Pick your perfect shade from our Mill Open Weekend Special Collection: Mineralogy with a handmade Shade Card. Not only are they a vital tool to help you pick your colour, but they are a thing of beauty in themselves that reflect the love and care we show all our yarn and fibre.
There’s nothing quite like a shade card to really understand the feel of a yarn and the rainbow of shades that make up its delicious palette. Our new and improved shade cards use recycled materials, are printed locally, and are made by our mill folk, alongside the help of a rather fancy new machine who we have aptly named Sade (pronounced ‘Sha-day’)!
For this year’s Mill Open Weekend special, we have made you all honorary Mill Folk and invited you to help us! We created a series of surveys which allowed you all to give us a hand whipping up those specials: everything from selecting the blend and colour palette, to theme and shade names. And we’re so smitten with how this range, Mineralogy, has turned out; together with your help we’ve created something truly special.
We all know how tricky it can be to pick the right colour for your project from your computer or phone screen. So this handy shade card will allow you to view all the colours of our Mineralogy range and get a proper feel for the texture, all in the comfort of your home. Each card contains a small sample of each available colour in the range. We can just imagine our shade cards proudly displayed on bookshelves and brightening up a crafting area – it’s not just us who love collecting shade cards, right?

Local Fibre
Our mill is situated in the heart of North Devon. As much as possible we use the fibre which is reared and sheared on this land, utilising the unique properties of each breed in our yarn and tops.

Unique Yarn & Tops
The hours of work and skill that go into producing one of our yarn and tops ranges is reflected in the dedication of a knitter, spinner or crocheter during the intricate journey from beginning to finished garment – both are a harmony of tradition and creativity.

Vintage Machines
Our Mill is one of only a handful of small-scale worsted spinning mills still operating in the UK. Many of our vintage machines were rescued from old, traditional mills before their closure. Keeping them going is a labour of love, but we reckon that the resulting woolly treats are well worth it!
