As part of our annual Mill Open Weekend shenanigans, we always create a limited-edition mini collection of yarn and tops to help celebrate in style. This year, we’ve been even more excited than usual, as you lovely folks have been the ones to create it, from the fibre blend to the colours and shade names.

We celebrated this occasion by knitting up some samples using our Mineralogy Collection, including Hannah Singleton's Strata Sweater, which we absolutely adore.

This stripey stunner is the perfect way to show off so many shades of our glorious Mineralogy collection! We think that the shades ‘Moss Agate’, ‘Malachite Magic’, and ‘Azurite Adventure’ all work beautifully in this sample of the light and easy-to-wear jumper. We couldn't resist putting together a handful of alternative colour combinations as well!

One thing we all love about the Mineralogy shades you fine folks picked is how well they all work together. The Strata Sweater uses three shades for gorgeous color-blocked stripes, resulting in a super wearable wardrobe staple. We chose summer blues and greens for our sample – Moss Agate, Malachite Magic, and Azurite Adventure –, but have three other color combinations available as well.

Care Instructions

We recommend that our yarns are gently washed before use as we don’t do any washing or conditioning after the yarns are spun and skeined. You’ll be amazed by how much the fibre blooms after a soak and it will certainly help you get a more accurate feel for gauge and character of the yarn over time.

Once your piece is finished, we recommend another hand wash before wet blocking the piece to the given dimensions. This will set all your stitches and guarantee that your garment looks its best.
