The Zarauz Tee is designed by Esti Juango for our Annual (issue five). Please note that the kit does not include the pattern. You can purchase the Annual (issue five) that includes the pattern here.

We now offer handy kits for all our patterns in The Annual (issue five)! This is the stunning Zarauz Tee by Esti Juango – the perfect garment for casual summer days on the beach.

All kits include enough yarn to knit the tee, along with a limited edition button badge and a fab project bag to keep it all safe. Please be aware that the kit does not include a copy of The Annual – you can get your copy here. Happy knitting!

The Zarauz Tee is delightfully playful with its drop shoulder and sideways garter-stitch construction, and it looks great in multi-coloured stripes or a single-colour stripe against a neutral tone.

It works great in both Sport and DK weight yarns, and so we whipped up three different samples in Seafarer Sport (officially launching in the Autumn, but you can already get it in this Kit!), Yarnadelic Sport and Knit by Numbers DK to show you the multitudes of ways you can play with colour in the Zarauz Tee. The pattern comes in three different lengths – short, medium and long; the kit includes enough yarn so that you can make each version.

If you prefer a different colour combination in any of these yarns, please leave a note in the order note box at checkout – we’d be pleased to adjust them for you!

Yarn Characteristics

Yarnadelic Sport: We love a good bop here at John Arbon Textiles, which got us thinking that it would be wonderful to create a yarn range inspired by our eclectic music tastes – from punk to funk! And so, the Yarnadelic palette was born during an evening of good vibes and chilled wine, with each shade conjuring the sentiment of a favourite song. This groovy range of heathered shades is created from 100% Falklands Corriedale fibre, which is the perfect balance of delightful softness, bounce and slight lustre.

Knit by Numbers DK: Knit by Numbers is inspired by the much-loved paint-by-numbers kits of our childhoods. With a colour palette of over 100 different shades it’s created by blending pre-dyed fibre tops with specific percentages of white, resulting in six tonal gradient shades per colour. The blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Merino is next-to-the-skin soft with great stitch definition and just the right amount of shine.

Seafarer Sport: Seafarer is a luxurious blend with a hardworking, unpretentious air – equally suited to ethereal accessories and hardwearing garments. Exmoor Blueface brings its wonderful springy nature to the blend, Bluefaced Leicester lends its outstandingly soft handle, whilst a dash of rustic Devon Closewool keeps those pills at bay, and Romney gives a beautiful woolly halo. Adding a dash of Silk just enhances the blends sheen and fine drape, creating something truly unique.

Care Instructions

We recommend that our yarns are gently washed before use as we don’t do any washing or conditioning after the yarns are spun and skeined. You’ll be amazed by how much the fibre blooms after a soak and it will certainly help you get a more accurate feel for gauge and character of the yarn over time.

Once your piece is finished, we recommend another hand wash before wet blocking the piece to the given dimensions. This will set all your stitches and guarantee that your garment looks its best.
