Exmoor Show and Good Bread

Last Wednesday saw Juliet and I manning the John Arbon table at the Exford Show. It’s a JA Textiles favourite, because this little county show has everything we could ever want…

Dog trials, cakes, horses, ponies, Barbours, bacon butties and a lot of lovely people. We happily spent the day visiting, knitting and eyeing up the bakers who were dangerously placed directly next to us. While it felt like we might be the most lucky people on earth -the smell of baking bread with cheese and pesto and olives wafting toward us – it also felt as though our appetites for starch were dangerously out of our control. The day of the bread coma set in.

Apparently, I was too busy scoffing cheesy bread to take enough photos, but here is the basket weaver and woodworker who were opposite us in the craft and food tent. We were certainly lucky to be under the marquis, because the entire day poured down with rain!

A peek of some shooting hose next to a man carrying the most lovely handful of posies!
