As part of our annual Mill Open Weekend shenanigans, we always create a limited-edition mini collection of yarn and tops to help celebrate in style. This year, we’ve been even more excited than usual, as you lovely folks have been the ones to create it, from the fibre blend to the colours and shade names.
We have knit up some samples using our Mineralogy Collection, including the Paul Klee Sweater, which we absolutely adore.
The Paul Klee Sweater, by Midori Hirose is a beauty of a pattern and in our sample, it shows off ‘Alabaster’, our natural, undyed shade. Pops of colour from the rest of the Mineralogy palette are used in the yoke in the geometric, checkerboard design, and we love how they play together.

Needles
You need 3 different size of circular needles.
- small size needle for ribbing: 2.75 mm / US 2 /JP 2
- middle size needle for stockinette stitch: 3 mm / US 2.5 /JP 3
- large size needle for color work: 3.75 mm / US 5 /JP 5(or 6)
Gauge
22 sts x 34 rows = 10 cm /4“, in stockinette stitch with middle size needle after wet blocking.
22 sts x 27 rows = 10 cm /4“, in colorwork pattern in round with large size needle after wet blocking.
