As you may know, John, the founder of John Arbon Textiles, is not only a spinner of yarn, but also records. This got us thinking that it would be wonderful to create a tops range inspired by his eclectic record collection – everything from punk to funk. We had a cracking evening when John played us Mill folk a few of his favourites and, whilst sipping a few glasses of chilled wine, we all wrote down the colour each song evoked. Then the hand carders came out and we began creating shades to illustrate the sentiment of each song – and thus the palette for Yarnadelic was born. We hope you’ll find the 18 melange shades inspiring.

Yarnadelic is 100% Falklands Corriedale. The breed is around 100 years old and was derived by crossing the Merino and Lincoln Longwool. It is one of our favourite fibres as its properties are a perfect balance of delightful softness and bounce from the Merino combined with the slight lustre and long staple length of the Lincoln Longwool – a fibre lover’s dream! Our Corriedale is farmed in the Falkland Islands – ensuring that the animals have been treated with the utmost care and are free from harmful mulesing. The fibre has then been dyed in the UK and lovingly prepared, blended and spun at our North Devon Mill.
We’ve been listening to some of the tracks John selected on repeat since he first played them to us. Each of the shades in this range is named after a specific track.
