100% Falklands Corriedale (non-superwash)

We're adding a whopping 9 shades to our Yarnadelic range, taking it from 18 to 26 colours! This exclusive Mill Member Preview consist of 4 of those 9 colours, a calming teal, a punchy lime-green, a luscious purple and a gloriously bright pink. Like all our Yarnadelic colours, they are named after favourite songs that capture the essence of each shade!

The full range of new colours will launch to Mill Members on January 9 and the general public on January 23.

Yarnadelic is created out of 100% Falklands Corriedale, which is a breed that's around 100 years old, derived by crossing Merino with Lincoln Longwool. It is one of our favourite fibres as it's the perfect balance of delightful softness and bounce from the Merino combined with the slight lustre and long staple length of the Lincoln Longwool.

Yarn spun from Yarnadelic tops will be a wonderful all-round yarn, suitable for everything from cables to lace and garments to accessories.

Every shade of Yarnadelic is named after a song. Check out the playlist on Spotify. Then sit back and tap that treadle to the beat! We hope you’ll find this groovy range of melange shades inspiring.

Specifications

Blend: 100% Falklands Corriedale (non-superwash)

Colour Blending: We start with solid coloured tops (aligned fibre) and blend them together using precise recipes to create our nuanced shades.

The entire range is created from a handful of base colours, making it easy to find harmonious colour combos for colourwork projects.

Fibre Characteristics

Falklands Corriedale: This fibre has a good long staple length, is smooth with a hint of lustre and oodles of bounce. The breed is derived from a cross of the Merino sheep and Lincoln Longwool. Micron: 29; Average Staple Length: 12.5cm/5”

Fibre from the Falklands

Our climate here in the UK is not suited to Merino and Corriedale sheep. We make sure to source ours from the Falklands in order to ensure that the animals have been treated with the utmost care and are free from harmful mulesing.

Our wool agent, Andrew Bowman, visits the Falklands regularly and has good relationships with local farmers.
